Dr. Meihua Chen is a professor of linguistics at the School of Foreign Languages, Southeast University. She is a PhD supervisor, and head of Foreign Language and Literature Research Group. She is a recipient of the Special Government Allowances of the State Council and a Distinguished Teacher of Jiangsu Province.

Professor Chen serves on the Academic Committee of School of Foreign Languages(Director), University Academic Committee (Member), Research Center for Asia-Pacific Language Policy Studies affiliated to Research Center for International Issues of Jiangsu Province (Director), Jiangsu Foreign Languages and Linguistics Society (Vice President), China Education Linguistics Association (Standing Member), ESP Committee under China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (Standing Member). She is also the editor-in-chief of Frontiers in Asia-Pacific Language and Culture Studies.

Professor Chen is overseeing a national-level first-class undergraduate program for English Majors, two national-level first-class academic courses ("English for Academic Communication" and "English Technical Writing"), and a provincial-level teaching case library of curriculum-based ideological and Political Education (for English Majors). She has edited or co-edited over twenty textbooks which were on the list of National-level Planned Textbooks for Higher Education, foreign language textbooks recommended by MOE, and the Key Textbooks for Higher Education for the 13rd Five-Year Plan and the 14th Five-Year Plan in Jiangsu.
